New York Fashion Week 2018

Well I’ll say we kicked off Fashion Month with a whirlwind of a NYFW!! I have had the most incredible time and seen so many inspirational designs and concepts that have gotten me so pumped to keep creating. It’s truly incredible to see how many different designers there are and every brand creates such a vision and statement through styling and music and set design. Maybe this is why Fashion Week is so overwhelming to me since there are contrasting styles happening one after another after another. It’s almost overstimulating! 

Fashion Week in New York is so special because, unlike the incredibly high standards of Paris or Milan, New York embraces new talent and gives a way for the lesser known designers to showcase their talents. Although we have all been running around like crazy freaks, changing outfits four times a day, trying to make it to every single show we possibly can, I am still finding this NYFW to be so inspirational and it has left me even more motivated to keep creating. 

Watching the runway show of someone's designs and collections makes me so proud of all of the talented people who are chasing their dreams and making them into reality! Those models are strutting down with everything they've got to show off the skill of the designer and it is so great to see the culmination of such hard work just slaying down the runway. 

All that being said there is a lot that I don't get to share with you guys when it comes to NYFW. The hard parts of the job that get overwhelming including styling up to 5 outfits a day, finding time to create images that I love, getting to emails, meeting up with brands, sharing everything on stories, hardly sleeping and never finding time to eat. Fashion week always seems to be really hard on the body and I never take good enough care of myself. It's a struggle between wanting to do everything and realizing that YOU are important too and nothing is more important than good health. Work is work and I think it's easy to get caught up in it. This is just a friendly reminder to myself and may be even you, to enjoy life and not take it too seriously.

This outfit was probably my favorite of the entire week. I am really loving the scarf dress trend. I was lucky enough to rock this Altuzarra look which has been one of my favorite designers for the longest time! I linked a few scarf dresses below if you want to check out the trend for yourself.
