Get to Know Me

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSELF

WHAT IS UP!! With so many amazing projects in the works, it feels like a good time to catch up with old followers while welcoming the new. Here are a few fun facts about who I am-- but please hit me with any questions down in the comment section, I love hearing from you guys!! LETS ROLL!

1. I WAS BORN and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where I lived with my parents and four siblings. My family is so full of creative energy and entrepreneurs, I was constantly inspired and always working on projects with everyone around. Sounds crazy, and it was!

2. I WENT TO THE University of Utah for undergrad and came out with my Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in photography. I ran a successful photography business for over 6 years before I started blogging full time. I've basically always been self employed and lovin it. I also got to do some summer programs for fashion design at Parsons and FIT in New York.. Maybe that's where my NYC love affair began..

3. MY FAMILY IS FULL OF MUSICIANS and I began writing music with my sister Sophie at such a young age. We played together in a band, just the two of us, for four years, which came to a tragic end after my sister suddenly passed away 8 years ago. She was the most talented and warm human, just constantly sharing her light everywhere she went. In order to keep our dream alive, I have kept playing music with my brothers and we briefly played in a band called Luna Lune all together. Don't worry, we still get together to jam when we're all in town! Right now, I play in a band under the name of DOE and am also working on a new exciting project. I love nothing more than performing and wish I was still able to do that everyday. Stay tuned for new music! :)

In honor of my sweet sister, my family started Sophie's Place, which is a room in hospitals that is dedicated to music therapy. It's spreading all over the country and it's so beautiful to watch my sister still changing lives with her music!

4. MY LOVE OF PHOTOGRAPHY has been with me for as long as I can remember. Starting my business in high school and watching it grow into what I'm doing now has been such an amazing journey. I absolutely love the way that Instagram and blogging has connected me with new friends, clients, and brands from all over the world. I never would have dreamed this was possible! Whatever your dream is, DO IT, and don't stop till you get there, it's never too late.

5. ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, my husband, Cole, and I decided to chase our dreams and move from our adorable home in Utah to a studio apartment in New York City. Our little box of a place is full of firefly lights, guitars and amps, our Collage Kit, and more shoes than any human could ever need. It's cozy and small and we wouldn't have it any other way. We now create together and have so many plans for the Tezza brand that our heads are spinning..

6. I MET COLE WHILE chillin' in diapers!! My mom actually threw his baby shower, which I attended as a one year old! We grew up as close family friends, seeing each other at things like Super Bowl and Christmas parties. Fast forward to college and he is roommates with my older brother and we started to hang out on a "not so family friend" basis. After our first "real" date, the rest felt like history. A few years later we were planning our wedding and moving to New York!

7. MY FAVORITE TREAT is, and will always be, ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM!!!! If you have followed me for long enough, it used to be a running joke because people didn't think I actually ate the ice cream in my pictures... but.. I DO! My favorite spot in NYC is Morgensterns, it tastes like homemade ice cream that you'd get in the backyard from your mom on the 4th of July- aka, PURE HEAVEN! Don't get between me and my cone.

8. MY CURRENT GO-TO OUTFIT is Denim on Denim! I think it's just such a classic, easy way to nail a cool-girl vibe. Throw on your favorite band tee and you're ready to rock n roll.

9. MY FAVORITE QUOTE is "you will never influence the world by being just like it". This quote speaks for itself and really reminds me to stay original and true to myself. In this saturated and booming market, it would be easy to lose yourself and fall into a template that could strip you of your creativity. I like to remember that it is my individuality and creativity that got me to where I am today. People are looking to make valuable connections to real people, and to be real, you gotta be YOU!

10. IF I COULD GO ANYWHERE I think it would have to be Bali. I've been dying to get to Bali for as long as I can remember. It really seems like a place I would absolutely fall in love with and never want to leave. That said, my list is constantly growing and changing so I'm always open to suggestions!!
